"I am Mudman!"

There's been some construction on our street. Add to that the light rain showers we've had recently, and you have a recipe for some free entertainment.


It started out innocently enough with Rev drawing in the mud with sticks. Then he got his toes muddy, and eventually his hands.


Once he had successfully squished mud up to his elbows (while following my request to keep his clothes clean), he started "shooting" everything in sight, including confused passersby. Somewhere around this time he began yelling, "I am Mudman!"

He did an excellent job of entertaining himself in the mud for several minutes, but before too long he flung some dirt on his unsuspecting mother.

"Sweet, don't get me muddy please!"

"But I want to get you muddy," he said with his much-practiced and very convincing puppy-dog eyes.

Long story short: a very messy mud-fight ensued.

I couldn't take pictures of the delightful event, but luckily a friend got home just as we were heading to the hose and took these shots.




Judging by the volume of mud that I poured into his hair, I'd say I won.

Siblings

These photos were taken as part of an assignment from Parenting Magazine. Oh, wait, that's just me dreaming again...

Still, photographing siblings was an entertaining process. When one was ready to pose, the other was ready to run around the studio. Luckily, we were able to somewhat entertain the young models with baby soccer balls and a stack of nearby CD's. Hah!

Mount Bonnell

Isn't Austin beautiful? Some have commented that it looks like these photos were taken in front of a backdrop, but rest assured they were taken outdoors... on one very hot afternoon.

Silhouettes

I have been patiently waiting allll semester to get a silhouette shot of a ballerina. Now that the semester is over in a few days, we have a little downtime to indulge in extra photos that we would like to submit to our end of semester Print Show. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a ballerina on short notice, so I had to use a stand-in.

Diller-time

Group shot with my favorite Thursday night homemeeting (excluding several, very missed people).


One such missing person was Miss Lizey. Thankfully, she posed for me earlier in the evening.


The obligatory pyramid picture. Caroline didn't quite make it to the top before the "base" started making pain-related objections. =)

This is what happens when you have a lot of movement on a long shutter speed... portions of people disappear. Also, the look on Erick's face is priceless. I'm not sure how I would describe that look.

And of course there's the food. This week: King Ranch Casserole and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.... I used bounce-flash to capture the yumminess as best as I could.






Caroline was not on the menu.



I snuck this shot because it was very precious to see Rev sitting all by himself (by that, I mean, without mama) at a table full of grown-ups. He was carrying on as if he were sitting amongst his peers. Again, not sure what to make of Erick's expression? Hah
